Two injured in early morning mobile home fire near Saucier
Harrison County Fire Chief Pat Sullivan said two people were injured Wednesday morning during a trailer fire near Saucier.
Sullivan said emergency responders arrived to a fire on Diamond Road about 1 a.m. The mobile home was fully involved when the first fire units arrived.
Two people were in the mobile home at the time of the fire. He said they were able to escape through a back door. The two people were taken to an area hospital by ambulance. The extent of their injuries, which Sullivan said was caused from smoke inhalation, is unknown.
Sullivan said there were no working smoke alarms in the trailer, which was destroyed by the flames. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Fire units from Saucier, Lizana, McHenry, the CRTC and the Harrison County Fire Service responded to the fire.
