Coroner says Gulfport salon owner’s death ruled a drowning
Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove on Saturday said the death of Gulfport salon owner Kevin Anderson has been ruled a drowning.
Anderson’s body was found in the Mississippi Sound near Camille Cut between east and west Ship Island on Wednesday.
“There is no evidence of any trauma,” Hargrove said.
Rescue workers from Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, U.S. Coast Guard, Gulfport Fire and Rescue, Harrison County and other agencies had been searching for Anderson since his boat was reported abandoned on a beach near Gulfport Harbor on Tuesday at 7 a.m. Anderson’s 17-foot Century boat had run aground with its motor still running.
Friends of Anderson’s said he was known to have seizures. He was alone on his boat at the time of his disappearance and death.
