MS has better job growth than most other states, a new study shows
Amid the nearly 950,000 job cuts reported this year by outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas, a new report shows which states are experiencing the strongest and weakest employment growth.
The report, published Oct. 29 by WalletHub, a personal finance company, found that jobseekers in Mississippi are in a good place, as it ranks among the states with the highest employment growth rates.
The report also ranked which states were the best and worst for jobs. Here are the results.

Where does MS rank on list of best and worst states for jobs?
Despite the fact that the Magnolia State is experiencing some of the highest rates of job growth, the state still ranks toward the bottom on WalletHub’s list of best and worst states for jobs.
Mississippi is ranked 15th-worst state for jobs, according to the report. The state has the lowest amount of median annual income and is tied for the longest amount of time employees spend working, researchers said.

How did personal finance company conduct ranking?
WalletHub evaluated each of the 50 states across two key issues: job market and economic environment. Researchers then graded 34 job conditions on a 100-point scale with different weights depending on which key issues the conditions were grouped into to come up with the ranking.
