USM coach speaks out after his hometown hit by deadly tornadoes. ‘They’ll band together.’

Southern Miss Coach Will Hall shared an emotional response to tornadoes that hit Mississippi Friday night during a press conference following Southern Miss’ first scrimmage of spring football practice.

Hall’s hometown of Amory, Mississippi was one of the cities damaged as tornadoes swept across the state on Friday night, killing 21.

During the press conference, Hall shared that another coach, offensive coordinator Sam Gregg, is also from Amory and that players Brendan Toles and Jay Hampton also have ties to the Monroe County city.

“That place is tough, all right, with a lot of tough people,” said Hall. They’ll band together and that community and that county will support each other and they’ll be good.”
