South Mississippi has first single-digit increase in new COVID-19 cases since early June

The Mississippi State Department of Health on Sunday reported 361 new coronavirus cases and 4 new deaths as of June 27.

In the lower six counties, 8 new cases were added to Harrison County and one case each was subtracted from George and Stone counties. There were no new deaths.

It’s the first time Harrison County hasn’t had a double-digit daily increase since June 14.

It’s also the first single-digit increase for South Mississippi since June 5.

Total cases in South Mississippi counties are:

George — 65 (1 fewer)

Hancock — 116 (0 new)

Harrison — 642 (8 new)

Jackson — 475 (2 new)

Pearl River — 236 (0 new)

Stone — 48 (1 fewer)
