Deaths hold steady while Mississippi and Coast add fewest new COVID cases in 6 weeks
On Sunday, the Mississippi State Department of Health reported 381 new coronavirus cases and 4 more deaths.
In the lower six counties, there are 61 new cases and no new deaths.
The seven-day average of new cases is still falling in the state and on the Coast.
In the past week, Mississippi added 4,487 COVID-19 cases, which is the fewest in seven weeks. South Mississippi added 608 cases, the fewest in six weeks.
However, the rate of increase in deaths has held steady with only a slight decrease for the state and the Coast.
Across the state, 189 deaths were added this week, down from 193 and 212 the weeks prior. On the Coast, there were 14 deaths added, down from 17 and 16 in the weeks prior.
