‘We are monitoring everybody.’ 4th Biloxi firefighter tests positive for coronavirus

A fourth Biloxi firefighter has tested positive for COVID-19, Fire Chief Joe Boney said Thursday.

The firefighter received his positives result after testing earlier this week.

The first two employees tested who received positive tests Friday are in their mid-40s to mid-50s. Another firefighter was diagnosed with coronavirus Saturday.

All four are self-isolating at home and receiving treatment, Boney said.

At least one of the firefighters is being treated with the malaria drug, chloroquine.

All underwent testing after reporting their symptoms to healthcare providers.

“We are monitoring everybody,” Boney said. “We are decontaminating trucks and fire stations twice a day. That’s about all we can do.”
