Jackson County has a second case of coronavirus. Here’s what we know.
Singing River Health System reported early Wednesday the second case of coronavirus in Jackson County.
This is the fourth case reported across the three Coast counties.
SRHS said in a press release that the presumptive positive COVID-19 case was tested at the Singing River Medical Clinic in Ocean Springs.
The person is not at SRHS’s Ocean Springs or Pascagoula hospitals. The patient continues to self-quarantine and is doing very well, following the CDC guidelines to avoid chances of transmitting to anyone else, including their own family, SRHS said.
“Extraordinary precautions are in place to ensure Singing River Health System remains a safe environment to provide critical care for our patients,” the hospital said. Patients who test positive for coronavirus will be isolated and treated.
Anyone who feels ill or is concerned they may have COVID-19 should stay home and call the SRHS hotline at 228-809-5044 to be screened over the phone by a licensed medical provider before going to the hospital or clinic.
