Coronavirus postpones Crawfish Festival at Biloxi’s Coast Coliseum

The new coronavirus pandemic affected one of the most loved events in South Mississippi on Tuesday when the Crawfish Music Festival was postponed.

“Due to the spreading coronavirus outbreak and for the safety of the fans, artists and staff, The Mississippi Coast Coliseum will postpone the annual Crawfish Music Festival scheduled for April 15-19,” the Coast Coliseum said in a press release.

This was the first time in the 28-year history of the event that it was canceled, said Colisuem Executive Director Matt McDonnell.

He is hoping to combine the Crawfish Festival with the Summer Fair that is held each June on the Coliseum grounds, he said.

“We are currently working hard to reschedule in June with more rides and as many of our headliners and local artists as possible,” he said.

The Coliseum has canceled and rescheduled all the shows in March and several beyond that.
