Mississippi woman wins a $1.2 million casino jackpot
A woman from central Mississippi became a millionaire Sunday on the spin of a Wheel of Fortune slot machine.
Dominique R. (no last name given) of Kosciusko was playing the Wheel of Fortune slot machine at Golden Moon Casino on Sunday when she hit the jackpot worth $1,235,666.25.
“When I won, I didn’t realize that it was as much as it was,” the woman said, according to a press release from Golden Moon Casino, “and it still doesn’t seem real.”
The Wheel of Fortune is a three-reel, wide-area progressive slot machine with a single play line and features the design from the popular game show.
“My husband was with me and he was so excited and was jumping up and down,” the winner said. “He told that me that I just don’t know how life-changing this is for us.”
Pearl River Resort at Choctaw is owned by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. The Bok Homa Casino and Golden Moon Hotel & Casino properties reopened from the coronavirus shutdown on Aug. 7, well after the Coast casinos, most of which opened May 21.
