South Mississippi attorneys were named to the list of 2017 Best Lawyers in America, an honor based on a peer-reviewed survey of more than 50,000 attorneys.

Balch & Bingham honorees: Ricky Cox, energy law; Paul Delcambre, personal injury litigation; Leo Manuel, energy law; John Rice, banking and finance law as well as real estate law; Jennifer West Signs, project finance law and real estate law; Ben Stone, energy law and gaming law; H. Rodger Wilder, energy law; and Teri Wyly, environmental law. Jennifer West Signs was additionally recognized as a 2017 Lawyer of the Year in the area of real estate law.

Deutsch Kerrigan honoree: R. Douglas Vaughn, insurance law.

Fisher Phillips honoree: Steven Cupp, labor and employment law.

Heidelberg, Steinberger, Colmer and Burrow honoree: Jimmy Heidelberg, appellate practice, environmental law, legal malpractice law, mass tort litigation and class actions, medical malpractice law, personal injury litigation and professional malpractice law. Heidelberg was additionally recognized as a 2017 Lawyer of the Year in the area of personal injury litigation.

Dr. Philip Levin, a physician at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, was named president-elect for a two-year term of the American College of Emergency Physicians’ Mississippi Chapter. Levin brings 38 years of emergency medicine practice to the role.

David Lundgren Jr., a native of New Orleans and resident of Diamondhead, was named chief investment officer for Hancock Holding Co. in Gulfport. Lundgren is a veteran asset management executive and began his career with Hancock in 1998. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and master’s degree in business administration from the University of New Orleans.

Singing River Health System employees Mary Panni, registered nurse at Singing River Hospital’s Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center, and Steve Brill, Ocean Springs Hospital’s facilities support manager, received 2016 Marketing Ambassadorship Awards for their exceptional representation and promotion of SRHS and its mission.

Mei-Li Hernandez of Biloxi joined the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce Inc. as its membership coordinator. Hernandez is a Pass Christian High School graduate and a former member of the Coast Young Professionals’ board of directors.

Memorial Hospital recognized its 2016 STAR Award recipients for their outstanding customer service in the second quarter: Janell Bell, pediatrics; Betty Johnson, community relations; Schaeffer McCann, respiratory care; Lisa McCleese, professional development; Dawn Purser, community relations; Diane Schuler, patient registration; Steve Wagnon, security; Dot Wells, wound care and food and nutrition; and Dessie West, environmental services.
