Report: Spending flat in South Mississippi in July
Half of the 12 cities in South Mississippi will see a drop in the sales tax diversion they get from the state next month.
The July report from the Mississippi Department of Revenue shows June sales, which were up $9,792 across the Coast counties. Spending in June hasn’t moved much over the last 5 years in South Mississippi. This year’s total was $5.3 million, compared to $5.3 million in 2015, $5.2 million in 2014 and $5.0 million in both 2013 and 2012.
