The Coast Coliseum in Biloxi is seeing strong numbers, Executive Director Matt McDonnell reported Thursday.

More than 2,300 vehicles were registered for Scrapin’ The Coast in June, the most in the history of the event.

And more than 16,000 people turned out over three days to see Jurassic Quest, one of the biggest dinosaur exhibits the Convention Center has hosted, McDonnell said. He hopes to book the dinosaur show again next year.

McDonnell also reported:

▪  The Coliseum has bought 299 pairs of ice skates and a skate sharpener for public ice skating sessions

▪  Southern Soul Explosion, the first outdoor blues and soul festival in more than 25 years, will take place Sept. 4

▪  Chefs of the Coast will return Sept. 8 to the Convention Center for the first time in eight years

▪  More than 8,000 tickets have been sold for the Oct. 20 Chris Stapleton concert

▪  The Bill O’Reilly and Dennis Miller “Who Wants To Be President” show Oct. 22 is sold out

▪  The Mississippi State women’s basketball team will play Tulane on Nov. 16

▪  Sales figures for the annual Summer Fair were $107,000, down from $142,000 in 2015, because of heat, lightning and rain
