MDOT awards grants for Coast airport, ports
Mississippi Department of Transportation Commissioner Tom King has announced grant awards for multimodal projects in Mississippi’s Southern Transportation District.
Funding for these grants comes from the Multimodal Transportation Improvement Fund. In South Mississippi they include:
- $252,561 for Stennis International Airport at Kiln for a parking/containment area for fuel trucks and ground support equipment.
- $357,500 for Port Bienville in, Bay St. Louis to add bumpers on bulkhead and remove wooden dolphin clusters.
- $615,000 for Port of Pascagoula to relocate a benzene and sulfur pipeline and support towers to a position that will clear new rail line.
- $398,000 for Port Bienville Railroad, Bay St. Louis for construction of a 1,270-foot rail spur.
