Julie Gresham of Biloxi, director of compliance and senior counsel at Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc., received a Top 10 30-Something Award from Corporate Counsel University. The awards program acknowledges outstanding achievements of organizations’ in-house counsel between the ages of 30 and 39.
Wendy Roper, financial adviser with Edward Jones in Gulfport, received the firm’s Spirit of Partnership Award for her outstanding performance in 2015, an honor given to 1,108 of Edward Jones’ 14,000 financial advisers.
Coast Young Professionals honored this year’s Forever Young Award recipients during the eighth annual Black Tie and Blue Jeans Gala: Dennis Burke; RoAnna Chenault, Hancock Bank; Warren Conway, Conway and Associates; Billy Knight Sr.; Ricky Mathews, NOLA Media Group; Paige Riley, Hillyer House; Ben Stone, Balch & Bingham; Cheli Strumila, Coast Observer; Dr. Jennifer Sutton, Gulf Coast Veterinary Emergency Hospital and Beach View Veterinary Hospital; and Chevis Swetman, The Peoples Bank.
Walt Denton, a native of Biloxi, was named a partner and shareholder of GodwinGroup, a branding and marketing communications firm with offices in Gulfport and Jackson, and he will serve on the firm’s executive committee. Denton earned both his bachelor’s degree in speech communication and his master’s degree in public relations from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Silver Slipper Casino honored its employees and supervisor of the month for May 2016: Lainey Perrot, surveillance, and Kristen Black, executive administrative assistant, were named Employees of the Month, and Cory Blaize, table games supervisor, was named Supervisor of the Month. Each honoree received gifts and prizes.
Bill Horton, regional president of the South region for Regions Bank, was appointed to lead an expanded Commercial Banking Group, which will serve small and middle-market companies.
