SBA Women's Business Center opens in Jackson
The U.S. Small Business Administration is awarding a grant to the Mississippi Minority Business Alliance to staff a Women's Business Center in Jackson.
The new center will serve men and women entrepreneurs who want to start or expand a business and will focus on assisting disadvantaged persons and minorities in dealing with the challenges of starting and running a business.
Business counseling, workshops, business-plan development and assistance in securing financing are the primary areas of expertise that will be offered.
The center, the state's only SBA-sponsored Women's Business Center, joins more than 100 SBA Centers across the country.
