Kayak rental lets paddlers explore Back Bay

Biloxi Bay Kayak Rentals is open at 9485 Fournier Ave. at Race Track Road, a block east of Scarlet Pearl Casino in D'Iberville.

"We have 25 brand-new kayaks," said Mary Freche, who operates the new business with her husband, Greg. Rentals start at $35 for all day. Kayaks are equipped with life jackets and paddles. Smaller kayaks are available for children.

The cost includes the launch and pickup on Back Bay. From there, people can paddle under the bridge to Deer Island or explore Back Bay.

Hours are daily from daylight to dark as weather permits.
