James Philip Caranna was awarded the John Caranna Public Service Volunteer of the Year Award by the S.A.L.T./TRIAD Council. After an illness left Caranna legally blind at the age of 24, he devoted his life to volunteering for the Harrison County Sheriff's Department and the Harrison County Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Even after retiring at age 67, Caranna remains a volunteer of the Harrison County RSVP Handyman Brigade where he serves as an assistant carpenter.

John Hall, broker associate with Coldwell Banker Alfonso Realty Inc., was named the 2015 recipient of the Sales Award, Top Producer Award, Top Listing Award and Top Closed Units Award for Hancock County. In addition to his local honors, Hall also received the President's Circle Elite Award from Coldwell Banker for his production and number of sales.

Richard Perkins was promoted to assistant vice president by the First Federal Savings and Loan Association's board of directors. In his new role, Perkins will serve as the branch manager and loan officer of First Federal's Moss Point branch. He is a 2009 graduate of the University of Mississippi.

William Mitchell, a professional engineer, land surveyor and construction manager for Brown, Michell & Alexander Inc. in Gulfport, earned his Certified Construction Manager designation from the Construction Manager Certification Institute. Mitchell earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering and his master's degree in public policy and administration from Mississippi State University.

Faye Centeno requalified for her National Certification Corp.'s designation as a Women's Health Care nurse practitioner by meeting educational and practice requirements in the obstetric, gynecologic and neonatal specialties.

Dr. Joanna Bayles joined Hancock Medical Center's family medicine practice at 4540 Shepherd Square in Diamondhead. Bayles earned her bachelor's degree in chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Ga.

Dr. Valerie Lenox, an internal medicine physician, joined Memorial Physician Clinics' family medicine practice at 8970 Lorraine Road in Gulfport. Lenox earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health in New Orleans, and she has been practicing in South Mississippi since 1992.
