Mississippi Power will kickoff its free Neighborhood Efficiency Program from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the Gulfport 19th Street Community Center at 3319 19th St.
The program identifies neighborhoods in the company's service area to receive a free in-home energy audit by a team of professionals and is designed to educate customers on simple, low-cost ways to save money and energy.
Speakers at Thursday's event will be Ward 1 Councilman Kenneth Casey and Gulfport NAACP president Gary Fredricks.
Those who want to participate should call Mississippi Power at (855) 693-8326 to schedule an in-home energy audit. If a home qualifies for insulation or additional savings measures, Mississippi Power will arrange for a professional to install these measures, again at no cost.
