Mississippi Enterprise for Technology event will look at port opportunities
Mississippi Enterprise for Technology will present a program Jan. 21 about the Port of Gulfport's business development and diversification efforts.
The meeting will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Stennis Space Center.
A $570 million restoration project is in progress, and the port footprint is expanding and moving into the vertical phase of construction.
The port is required to create 1,300 jobs within three years of the end of construction and anticipates the goal to be met mid-2020.
Businesses interested in contracting opportunities should consider becoming a qualified Section 3 Business. Details can be found at shipmspa.com and portofthefuture.com.
RSVP is required by noon Jan. 19 and a visitor's pass will be available at the security office for those who do not hold a Stennis Space Center security badge.
