South Mississippi's 11 casinos posted the best November gross casino revenue since 2008.

Despite losses in the river casinos, a strong month on the Coast pushed the state's casino revenue up by 3.4 percent over November 2014.

Scarlet Pearl Casino opened in D'Iberville in December and its winnings will be included in the next report.

The numbers released Friday by the state Department of Revenue show casino revenue on the Coast is increasing, though the numbers aren't so lucky in the other areas of the state. After dipping in October compared with the previous year, Coast casinos had revenues of $91.4 million last month, $82.8 in November 2014 and $82.2 million in November 2013, a three-year increase of more than $9 million.

The river casinos fell almost $12 million during that time, from $81.5 million in November 2013 to $73.1 million in November 2014 to $69.8 million last month.
