Two Mexican restaurants opening in Gulfport

Adding new spice to the Gulfport restaurant scene will be two new restaurants with Mexican and Southwest menus.

The state Department of Health reports a new Aztecas Restaurant & Cantina will open Monday at 9400 U.S. 49. Owner Orlando Godoy will be offering a menu featuring carne asada, carnitas, rib eye, pechuga de pollo (grilled marinated chicken breast), wheat tortilla chicken wraps, alambres sandwich (cheese-steak sandwich), flautas, quesadilla dinner, burrito supreme, coctel de camaron (steamed shrimp), shrimp enchiladas, tacos de pescado, fajita steak, chicken or shrimp nachos, steak, chicken or shrimp fajitas, and soups and salads.

Cabana Beach Bar & Grill is opening at 315 Courthouse Road in Gulfport. Along with Mexican dishes such as quesadillas, the menu will serve Southwest egg rolls, chicken wings, hamburgers, shrimp baskets, fries and onion rings.
