Yuengling expands distribution to South Mississippi

D.G. Yuengling & Son, America's oldest brewery, is expanding the distribution of its brands to South Mississippi.

Among the four wholesalers that will distribute Yuengling products in the state are Rex Distributing Co. in Gulfport and Southern Beverage Co. in Hattiesburg.

The initial rollout in early January will include Yuengling's flagship beer, Yuengling Lager, along with Light Lager and Black & Tan brands.

Mississippians will get their first taste of Yuengling's seasonal beers in 2016, starting with Summer Wheat in April.

Many additions and upgrades to Yuengling's production capacity led to this venture, said the Pottsville, Pa.-based company.

Mississippi will become the 18th state in the brewery's footprint.
