Sellers getting more for their South Mississippi homes

Homes in South Mississippi are selling for the highest average price since 2007.

The average sales price in October was $145,023, which is $12,500 more than in October 2014, according to the Mississippi Gulf Coast Multiple Listing Service.

Year to date the average sales price is $149,900. In 2007 the average price hit $167,400 for the first 10 months of the year and the lowest average since then came in 2011, when the average was $116,700 -- or $33,000 lower than this year.
