Every city in South Mississippi sees sales tax increase
Spending was up in September across South Mississippi as residents and visitors shopped and dined -- and all 12 cities will benefit with larger payments from the state.
Gulfport saw the biggest increase of nearly $72,000, followed by D'Iberville that was up $55,000 and Biloxi, which will receive a tax diversion that is $25,000 higher than last year.
Total sales tax collected across the Coast has been higher every month this year.
