Three restaurants opening or on the way to South Mississippi
The Mississippi Department of Health has licensed two new restaurants to open while a new Buffalo Wild Wings is expected to open in Gulfport in time for the Super Bowl.
China One at 353 Courthouse Road in Gulfport will offer favorites such as egg roll, egg drop soup, wonton soup, fried rice, vegetable lo mein, General Tso chicken, hot and spicy shrimp, roast pork egg foo young, coconut shrimp, Mongolian chicken, curry chicken and bourbon chicken. Dwayne Thomas is opening North Street Landing Café at 412 E North St., Pass Christian. On the menu are omelets, beignets, oyster po-boys, roast beef sandwich, shrimp po-boy, turkey bacon club, barbecue beef sandwich, shrimp stuffed baked potato, pork chops, grilled chicken salad, grilled shrimp salad and fried chicken salad. Construction is under way for Buffalo Wild Wings off U.S. 49, north of I-10 in Gulfport. Jason Hall and Brian Jordan, owners of Potterswings LLC, project their 7,500-square-foot restaurant will open about Jan. 11.
General manager Edward Spaargaren said the restaurant will feature 70 televisions, 40 draft beers, an enclosed patio, Wing Tuesday and boneless Thursday specials.
Families can join free trivia games played on hand-held tablets. He said police and military discounts will be offered and the restaurant will raise money for local charities through Eat Wings Raise Funds events.
