Stennis and Michoud benefit from $1.2 billion contract
Syncom Space Services LLC has been re-awarded a contract from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to support the Synergy Achieving Consolidated Operations and Maintenance (SACOM) program. The
value of this performance-based hybrid contract has a maximum value of $1.2 billion, with a one-year base period and seven option periods totaling nine years and five months.
The SACOM award is a consolidation of contracts at two NASA facilities -- Stennis Space Center in Hancock County and the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans.
The S3 team will provide centralized management of the facility operations and maintenance requirements and the test and manufacturing services at SSC and MAF.
"We are honored and excited to be chosen for this important work, and we look forward to working in partnership with NASA to realize synergies through the effective management of these two independent facilities," said Mike Matteson, president of Syncom Space Services.
S3 is a joint venture of PAE Applied Technologies LLC and BWXT Nuclear Operations Group Inc. This joint venture was created to combine industry-leading capabilities in government facilities services, manufacturing and test support, specifically to execute the SACOM contract.
