The Rite Aid store on U.S. 90 at Dedeaux Road in Gulfport is the first in the area to be remodeled into a Wellness Store.
From noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 24, the store will provide free glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings.
Jessica Andrews, who was hired as a new wellness ambassador, said the store remained open while the interior was repainted in natural colors and all the displays updated so everything in the store is new.

Andrews' job is to help customers find what they need and let them know they can get immunizations against flu, pneumonia, shingles, whooping cough and tetanus at the store. Pharmacist Shannon Whitaker and store manager Keith Simmons also are available to answer customers' questions.
