The award recognizes airports for having the highest percentage of STAR departures, or flights that depart early or on time. This is the second time this year Gulfport's United station has won the STAR award.
"On-time performance reduces the likelihood of delays and ensures smooth airline operation for our team and our customers," said David Sanderson, United's Gulfport station manager. "Winning this award demonstrates that we've excelled in on-time performance, and have done so safely and consistently."
Clay Williams, the airport executive director, said the awards demonstrates the dedication to quality customer service and makes it easy to fly out of Gulfport.
