Tesla Rolls Out Flexible Model 3 Lease Offers This May
2026 Tesla Model 3 Lease Deals Now Available
The Tesla Model 3 has been a mainstay in the electric sedan world for years, and even as more competitors crowd the segment, it still holds its ground. Its blend of range, performance, and charging convenience keeps it relevant. Since launch, the Model 3 has become the face of Tesla for many, nudging EVs into the mainstream and setting the bar for fast charging and software-driven ownership.
For 2026, Tesla brought back the Model 3 Standard trim and renamed the old Long Range versions as Premium Rear-Wheel Drive and Premium All-Wheel Drive. The bigger news for many, though, is that you can now lease a Model 3 without jumping straight into full ownership.
As of this writing, Tesla's site lists lease payments starting at $299 a month for the Standard RWD, which puts the Model 3 within reach for more buyers eyeing a compact luxury EV.
Tesla's Lease Deals for May
The current Model 3 lease offers span the whole 2026 lineup, from the Standard RWD to the top Performance AWD. All deals are set for 36 months with a 10,000-mile annual limit and require a $3,000 down payment at signing. Tesla notes that these offers are for qualified buyers who apply after April 4, 2026.
Trim | Monthly Payment | Lease Term | Due at Signing | Annual Mileage |
2026 Tesla Model 3 Standard RWD | $299 | 36 months | $3,994 | 10,000 miles |
2026 Tesla Model 3 Premium RWD | $349 | 36 months | $4,044 | 10,000 miles |
2026 Tesla Model 3 Premium AWD | $449 | 36 months | $4,145 | 10,000 miles |
2026 Tesla Model 3 Performance AWD | $599 | 36 months | $4,295 | 10,000 miles |
Lease pricing depends on which Model 3 you pick and how you spec it, but even the higher trims stack up well against other EV sedans in the same price range. Keep in mind, taxes and fees aren't included in the advertised numbers, and going over the mileage limit will cost you $0.25 per mile. There's also a $395 fee when you turn the car in at the end.
2026 Tesla Model 3 Highlights
Naming tweaks aside, the 2026 Model 3 lineup still covers a wide range of performance. The Standard model is all about affordability, while the Premium trims add more range and features. If you want speed, the Performance AWD is the one to watch – it's rated for 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, which puts it in sports sedan territory.
Depending on the version, you get anywhere from 286 horsepower in the single-motor models up to 510 horsepower in the dual-motor Performance. Range estimates run from 309 to 363 miles, depending on how you spec it. And of course, Tesla's Supercharger network is still a big advantage, with most trims able to fast charge at up to 250 kW.
Inside, the Model 3 keeps things simple with its signature minimalist look and a big 15.4-inch touchscreen in the center. Higher trims get heated and ventilated front seats, and the Premium and Performance models add a rear screen for passengers. One thing you still won't find is Apple CarPlay or Android Auto – something rivals like the Hyundai Ioniq 6 and BMW i4 do offer. Still, Tesla's own software, over-the-air updates, and built-in navigation are big draws for a lot of buyers.
Final Thoughts
There are a lot more compact EVs on the road now than just a few years ago, but the Model 3 still stands out. It's the mix of efficiency, quick performance, and easy access to Tesla's charging network that keeps it ahead. Some rivals have more traditional interiors or better smartphone integration, but for many, the overall Tesla experience is still tough to beat for daily driving.
If you're interested in trying out an EV but aren't ready to commit for the long haul, leasing a Model 3 is worth a look. The current lease deals lower the upfront cost and let you get a feel for the latest EV tech without stressing over long-term depreciation or battery changes. With monthly payments that undercut a lot of gas-powered luxury sedans, these offers could be a good fit for commuters, tech fans, or anyone making their first jump into electric driving.
