  • 124 Court Condominiums opens in Bay St. Louis with 27 upscale residential units
  • Historic downtown site adds retail space, rooftop deck and fitness amenities
  • Proximity to beach, shops and new Amtrak hub bolsters investment appeal

Years of planning and construction are complete and 124 Court Condominiums is open in Bay St. Louis, close to the beach, shops, restaurants and Amtrak.

The grand opening Thursday night gave the community a first walk-through of the five-story residential and commercial building on Court Street in Old Town.

“As a community, we have watched with great interest to see how the developers have taken this historic site and transformed it into a reflection of community pride,” said Tish Williams, executive director of Hancock County Chamber of Commerce.

The site was a Bay Motors Ford dealership from 1947 until the 1960s, and then was the location of the Sea Coast Echo newspaper before the condos were built.

“It’s more than just a building, ”Williams said. “It is an economic engine that will fuel our small businesses, bringing more people to our area to enjoy the authentic aspects of the Bay that make this community an enviable place to live.”

Choice location and design

The new building is just a block west of Main Street and a few blocks to the beach, restaurants and nightlife on Beach Boulevard in one of the liveliest downtowns in South Mississippi.

It’s also close to the new Amtrak station on the line that runs from New Orleans to Mobile, making it easy to commute, get to a Saints’ game, the casinos in Biloxi or the fort and battleship in Mobile.

All come with modern design and upscale features, such as quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, luxury vinyl floors, built-in wine and beverage coolers and stacked washer and dryer.

Brick reclaimed from the old St. Stanislaus gym adds to the historic character.

Rooftop deck among the amenities

HL Raymond Properties is the listing agent for the condos that start at $399,900 and can be leased for short-term rentals.

Configurations are 1 bedroom and two baths; 2 bedroom and 2.5 baths, and penthouses with 3 bedrooms and bathrooms. Flex space in the units can be used for a bunk room, studio or office.
