Gas prices soar by double digits in US. What’s the cost on the MS Coast?

Tensions in the Middle East wreaked havoc on gas prices across the nation this week.

“With Israel and Iran trading attacks over the past week, oil prices have continued to climb —and gasoline prices are following suit, rising at a pace we haven’t seen since last summer,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “Few pumps have been immune, with nearly all states seeing gas prices rise over the last week.”

The MS Coast may have been the exception, managing to ride out the storm with small minimal price changes at the pumps. As of Friday, June 27, Mississippi’s average gas price was $2.725 per gallon, according to AAA. Prices fell one cent overnight and are close to last week’s average of $2.721.

Coastal counties typically have the cheapest gas prices in the state. This week followed the trend.
