Buc-ee’s now taking applications for cashiers and other positions at new South MS store
A job fair will be held three months before Buc-ee’s Travel Center opens on I-10 in Harrison County, but those who want to work as a cashier or stocker don’t have to wait until then to apply.
Jobs for cashiers, deli, gift shop, warehouse and other positions now are posted on ZipRecruiter and Indeed.
Applicants can also go through the Buc-ee’s career page, where they can apply once they create an account.
The jobs are listed as Pass Christian, although the store is in Harrison County.
The posts say Buc-ee’s, the first in Mississippi, will open in May.
Buc-ee’s will hire more than 200 full time employees. Fourteen jobs are advertised and benefits include medical, dental, vision, three weeks paid time off and 401k 100% match up to 6% of the employee’s contribution. The pay typically is much higher than the going rate in South Mississippi.
Many of the jobs require weekend work, as needed.
Buc ee’s job openings, salaries
▪ Deli/food service — $21 an hour. Average in Pass Christian is $10.67 per hour.
▪ Cashier —$18 an hour. The average base salary for a cashier in the Pass Christian area is $10.39 an hour.
▪ Gift associate— $18 an hour ($37,440 a year). The average salary for this position in the area is $26,324 a year
▪ Grocery associate/warehouse stocker — $18 an hour. Average in the area is $17.10 an hour.
▪ Janitorial/cleaning and maintenance — $18 an hour. Average is $10.72 an hour.
The company also is taking applications for assistant managers and team leaders:
▪ Assistant deli/food service manager — $33 an hour
▪ Assistant gift/merchandise manager — $25 an hour
▪ Human relations field representative - $25 an hour
▪ Cashier team lead — $20 an hour
▪ Grocery team lead — $20 an hour
▪ Janitorial team lead — $20 an hour
If Buc-ee’s is on track to open in May, the company will announce the job fair by February.
Company policies require a dress code and no visible tattoos.
