National chain working to open second Biloxi location. This one is close to the interstate
Another Coast location of Harbor Freight is opening his winter, selling quality tools at low prices.
The new store will be at 920 Cedar Lake Road, just off Exit 44 of I-10 in Biloxi, near the corner of Popp’s Ferry Road.
The existing Biloxi store at the corner on Eisenhower Drive at Pass Road in west Biloxi will remain open, the company said.
Construction already is under way, using local workers and companies from the surrounding Biloxi area.
“In addition to finding a great location, we were attracted by the availability of great associates in the Biloxi area, and we look forward to having them join the Harbor Freight team,” said Trey Feiler, senior vice president of real estate and construction.
Between 25 and 30 new jobs are expected to be filled, including sales and logistic supervisor, senior associates, sales associates and seasonal positions. The company said in a press release it pays a competitive salary and health coverage, along with Thanksgiving and Christmas Day off.
This will be the sixth Harbor Freight store in South Mississippi and the 25th in the state. The others in South Mississippi are at Eisenhower Drive in Biloxi and in Gautier, Lucedale, Picayune and Waveland..
The company has more than 28,000 employees at 1,500 locations nationwide.
Harbor Freight sells tools for home DIY projects and professional job sites and offers coupon deals and membership sales and benefits. The stores are open 7 days a week, Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
