Legendary outdoors and Western wear company opening new store in Gulfport outlets
Those who wear boots to ride, work or dance will find styles for their lifestyle at the new Ariat outlet opening Wednesday at Gulfport Premium Outlets.
The outlet is in Suite 410, behind The Gap outlet and across from H&M.
The company was founded 30 years ago. “We were the first to integrate athletic footwear technology into boots for equestrian athletes,” said Beth Cross, CEO and co-founder.
The range of products has grown and the Gulfport Ariat outlet will offer close-out footwear, apparel, denim and accessories for men, women, and children.
Prices typically start at 30% off original retail value. Customers might find some like-new sample clothing, the company said. The store is open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
During the grand opening weekend, from May 1 to 5, customers will receive an additional 25% off already-reduced prices.
The opening of the outlet coincides with Kentucky Derby weekend. Cross said she remembers sitting in front of the TV in 1973 and watching Secretariat win the Kentucky Derby.
“He went on to win the Triple Crown, setting records that still stand today,” she said. “Secretariat’s big heart and competitive spirit were the motivations behind naming our company Ariat.”
Gulfport Premium Outlets is located off U.S. 49, just south of I-10.
