Open for 74 years, a beloved Gulfport bakery is expanding to this MS Coast city
Quality Bakery is cooking up something special. The family business and Gulfport staple will soon open a second location in Wiggins.
Owner Danielle White shared plans on social media and polled followers to measure interest in a Wiggins addition. The family said the response was humbling.
“We didn’t expect the response that we got,” a Facebook post said. “I can’t wait to get up there and get going. This is very exciting for our family.”
White chose a location in a new Flora Gene shopping strip. Before they can plan a grand opening, Quality Bakery must wait for the parking lot to be paved. There’s a plan to build out their unit to accommodate the popular business.
“If the rain will hold off and the parking lot can become a thing, it won’t be long,” a recent Facebook update says. “We can’t wait to come to Wiggins.”
The new expansion would be a first for the 74-year-old bakery, but it may not be the last one. The family hinted at Wiggins being the first, but has not responded to questions of a second satellite location or where a third location would be.
“God willing, we will be in Gulfport for many generations.”
