The Hub City is getting a HomeGoods.

The discount home furnishings store will open in the Turtle Creek Crossing shopping center on Highway 98 in Hattiesburg, Stirling Properties announced on Facebook.

The space will be 23,065 square feet and is located near Target, Ross, Old Navy and Pet Smart. The building was formerly home to a Bed, Bath & Beyond store that recently closed.

This will be the first HomeGoods store in South Mississippi. Right now, the closest HomeGoods to the Mississippi Coast is Mobile. The Hattiesburg location will be about the same distance from Gulfport.

HomeGoods is owned by TJX Companies, a department store corporation that also operates T.J. Maxx and Marshall’s stores across the U.S.

Rhonda Sharkawy of Stirling Properties represented the building landlord in the agreement. An opening date had not been announced by Saturday.
