This popular Biloxi breakfast restaurant was going to move. What’s the plan now?
Plans to move Fill-Up with Billups to a new location in downtown Biloxi have changed.
The restaurant is in a prime location — right across the street from both Beau Rivage Resort and Casino and MGM Park — on U.S. 90 and Caillavet Street.
Jourdan Nicaud had a new building constructed next to his Howard Square Apartments that recently opened at 902 Howard Avenue.
The idea was to move Billups up the street a couple of blocks to this new building and give more room for the breakfast crowds that pack the restaurant in the mornings and late night.
“As of right now, we’re going to stay where we are,” he said.
The new building has been leased, said Nicaud, who operates a variety of restaurants and other businesses across South Mississippi.
Meanwhile, the long-awaited Mississippi Antique Galleria — the largest indoor antiques and collectibles complex in the state. is about to debut on East Pass Road in Gulfport.
A soft opening for holiday shopping is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 26. The Galleria will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesdays thru Saturdays and from noon-5 p.m. Sundays. It will feature mid century modern, milk glass, Bavarian hand painted pottery, French antique furniture and vintage designer clothing.
Work also continues to transform Marina Cantina in Ocean Springs into Bacchus on the Bayou, a sister restaurant Nicaud Restaurant Group’s Bacchus on the Beach in Pass Christian.
