Want to own a luxury loft with a piece of Bay St. Louis history? You need $500K or more.

Luxury lofts that will soon open in what was once a Bay St. Louis hardware store are now for sale, and they come with a luxury price tag.

The building that houses the new condos is 100 years old. Some of the old store’s features were integrated into the new development.

“Farragut Lofts brings a new level of unmatched luxury and stylish living to Bay St. Louis,” according to the company’s website. Construction is still underway on Toulme Street, and the development could be complete within the next several months.

Available in the building are one, two, and three bedroom lofts, each of which is different. The three bedroom penthouse unit includes a wall of windows with a wide deck and view of the pool, and a spiral staircase leading to the loft master bedroom. All of the lofts have luxury lighting, walk-in closets, separate individual storage units, designer cabinets, cast iron sinks and tubs and two parking spaces.

Farragut Lofts are just south of the heart of downtown Bay St. Louis, one of the trendiest areas on the Coast. Buying a unit means being in a prime location that is just blocks from shops, restaurants and the beach. The lofts are about an hour’s drive from the New Orleans Marigny neighborhood.

Pricing for each individual unit is listed on the building’s website, with the cheapest being just under $500,000.

“They want the history with modern convenience and that is our building,” Galvin said.

Residents who purchase here have access to public amenities on the premises including a full bar and cafe, a private library, and a full gym with Peloton. There is a resort saltwater swimming pool with fiber optic lighting, a tanning shelf, a covered veranda and a grill area. The original plans also included an art gallery featuring local artists, and a museum honoring the history of the hardware building and the lofts’ namesake, Admiral David Farragut.

More listings inside the building can be found on Zillow.
