When is the new Slim Chickens restaurant in Biloxi opening? What to know
If you driven by the intersection of Popp’s Ferry and Cedar Lake roads, you’ve likely seen the new Slim Chickens restaurant.
The building looks done, but the owners told the Sun Herald Thursday they are waiting for air conditioning units to open.
The target opening date is in December, assuming no supply chain issues with the HVAC equipment.
A $1.6 million building permit was issued earlier this year for the fast casual restaurant at 916 Cedar Lake Road in Biloxi. It’s right off I-10 at the Popp’s Ferry Corner, where a tent pops up seasonally to sell fireworks and Christmas trees.
Southern Partners, based in Greenwood, is bringing the franchise to Biloxi.
Slim Chickens is known for its chicken tenders, sandwiches, wraps, wings and salads. The chicken is given a Southern-style buttermilk marinade, then lightly breaded by hand, cooked to order and served with a choice of 17 house dipping sauces.
The chain has more than 100 restaurants nationwide, but this is the first one on the Coast, said David Bagwell with Southern Partners. It will have seating indoors and outdoor patio seating, a drive-thru and curbside pick-up.
More information about the chain can be found on their website.
