There are no plans to build a 7-Eleven on the beach in Biloxi, company says

Forget about a Slurpee for now since 7-Eleven doesn’t have plans to build on the Coast yet.

“The information reported about 7-Eleven is incorrect as there are no plans to develop in Biloxi,” a spokesperson for the company said Monday, “and there has not been any involvement with Darden or the developer.”

Darden was the company that operated the former Olive Garden on the site on U.S. 90 at DeBuys Road in Biloxi. The restaurant was demolished during Hurricane Katrina.

The convenience and gas station brand 7-Eleven is headquartered in New Jersey and is known for its Slurpee frozen drink.

Coast developer Felix Bertucci Jr. last week named 7-Eleven as the brand that likely would operate a new gas station and convenience store on the former Olive Garden site on U.S. 90 at DeBuys Road in Biloxi.

“They’re just basically a prospect that we’re trying to talk to,” Bertucci said Monday in response to the statement from 7-Eleven.

On Tuesday the Biloxi Council voted to give conditional approval for a convenience store with gas station at the site.
