Got $7 million? This sprawling South MS estate has helipad, gun range, zip line and more
A New Orleans shipping magnate is selling his luxurious Poplarville estate, Honor Hill Farms, for an asking price of nearly $7 million.
Shane Guidry, CEO of Harvey Gulf International Marine, bought the property in part for his daughter, an 11-year-old equestrian jumper.
Called Honor Hill Farms, Guildry told the Sun Herald he “transformed” the property into what it is today.
“It’s a horse farm for breeding and training show horses,” Guidry said.
Guidry said his daughter has “graduated to a higher level of showing, so we don’t need the farm in Mississippi now.”
The family owns farms in Kentucky and Palm Beach, Florida.
Besides state-of-the-art barns and training facilities, the 378-acre property on H Burge Road boasts a wealth of amenities, including a lake house, a helipad, tennis courts, a zip line, a playground, a shooting range and period-themed guest houses nicknamed “The Saloon” and “The Castle.”
Guidry and his family also hunt quail on the estate grounds.
“We put it for sale during COVID,” Guidry said. He initially listed the farm at a higher price — $7,975,000 — in May 2021. The current list price on Realtor.com is $6,975,000.
Guidry said several potential buyers have viewed the property.
“The race horse world is more interested because it’s so close to New Orleans,” he said.
Guidry’s home in Metairie was reported to be the single most expensive mansion in Louisiana.
The businessman is also known for his close ties to Louisiana attorney general Jeff Landry, who serves on Harvey Gulf’s board of directors and also appointed Guidry to a position as head of the Landry’s own criminal investigations unit.
The appointment was seen by critics as a vanity posting for a political donor. The Advocate described Guidry as “possibly the biggest GOP donor in Louisiana.”
