A beloved po-boy restaurant in Pass Christian is for sale.

Pirate’s Cove was listed Monday at an asking price of $2.4 million, which includes the business brand as well as the building.

“As a major landmark in the city of Pass Christian, this restaurant is fully established and has a clientele that comes from all states,” the real estate listing reads. “This local legend comes fully equipped with everything needed to take over including the business and it’s well known name. The building has been built meticulously with all extras and an entire acre of property and ample parking for this thriving restaurant.”

Listing agent Kristin L. May at O’Dwyer Realty said that the owners of Pirate’s Cove, Mike and Dawn Lamarca, were ready to retire after more than 40 years with the business.

May said she has already gotten substantial interest from potential buyers.

While the owners would love to see the building remain a restaurant, May said they know that’s not a given.

“The business is for sale with the building and everything,” she said. “But once somebody buys it, it’s their discretion, you know.”

The restaurant is located at 208 Menge Ave. in Pass Christian. Before Katrina, the business was right on the beach.

Pirate’s Cove is frequented by Good Morning America anchor and Pass native Robin Roberts. Comedian Tig Notaro had her wedding catered by the restaurant.
