With 50 beer taps and a patio, Keg & Barrel has new opening date for Coast spot

Buildings 2 through 5 are open at The Inlet Residences on U.S. 90 in Ocean Springs, and next comes the debut of Keg & Barrel restaurant at the mixed-use development.

“Keg & Barrel is completely under construction,” said Tracey Ross, spokeswoman for the developer, The Thrash Group.

“We anticipate to be open by the spring of 2020,” she said. Keg and Barrel was originally slated to open in Ocean Springs by fall 2019.

Two large garage doors will open to an outdoor dining space. Inside more than 50 beers will be on tap, she said, and the restaurant will have a dedicated oyster bar and a full menu.

The popular restaurant and brew pub has two locations in Hattiesburg and is known for its burgers, sandwiches, salads, pub grub and beer.

“Craft beer and hand-crafted food” is how John Neal, founder and owner of Keg and Barrel, describes it. “We make everything from scratch,” he said. “It’s pub fair but it’s really well done.”

Keg & Barrel is the “eat” in the “Live, Eat, Shop” logo for The Inlet, which is 1.5 miles east of downtown.

Some people have moved into some of the 95 condos that are 1, 2 & 3 bedrooms, said Ross.

The “shop” part of the mixed-use development also is coming soon.

She said 4 Bulls Meat Market & Deli will open at about the same time as Keg & Barrel and two more retail spaces are available.

Building 1, on the western side of The Inlet, will open when work on the restaurant is done, she said.
