Cable One customers in Hancock County are no longer able to view WLOX’s CBS and ABC channels, the cable company has confirmed.
However, CBS and ABC channels out of New Orleans — WWL and WGNO — will continue to be broadcast in the county.
“We no longer have an agreement to carry these channels, so we are no longer able to offer this duplicate programming to our customers,” said Cable One spokeswoman Patricia Niemann.
Hancock and Pearl River counties have always been in the New Orleans media market, also known as designated market area. The rest of South Mississippi is in the Biloxi-Gulfport media market.
The change took effect Jan. 1.
