Murphy Steiner, M.D., has joined the medical staff of Merit Health Biloxi and Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, and a bachelor’s degree in Biology at University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, and a hand surgery fellowship at University of Tennessee, Campbell Clinic. He has participated in mission trips and worked with homeless and under-served adolescents. He will see patients at Bienville Orthopaedic in Biloxi, Gautier and Pascagoula.

Lisa Mabry, M.D., has joined the medical staff of Merit Health Biloxi. She received her medical doctorate from University of Tennessee Health and Science Center College of Medicine in Memphis. She graduated cum laude from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia and completed her internship in preliminary medicine at Baptist Hospital and her residency in diagnostic radiology at University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine. She completed a fellowship in breast imaging at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. She will work in Merit Health Biloxi’s Imaging Services Department and Compass Imaging.

Hans Adams, M.D., has joined the medical staff of Merit Health Biloxi. He received his Doctor of Medicine at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, where he also completed his internship, a residency in internal medicine, a fellowship in gastroenterology and was assistant professor of medicine in gastroenterology. Since 1979, he has been practicing gastroenterology in South Mississippi. He received the American Medical Association of Physician’s Recognition award, the Physician’s Recognition Award and the Geriatric Recognition Award. He will practice at Merit Health Medical Group, 967 Cedar Lake Road, Biloxi, and 1201 31st Ave. Gulfport.

Jonathan “JB” Brown, M.D., has joined the medical staff of Merit Health Biloxi and Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists. He received his Medical Doctorate from University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Ole Miss and a MS degree in medical sciences from Mississippi College. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Tulane University in New Orleans, and is the author of the AANA Book Series: The Elbow/Wrist: Arthroscopic Triceps Repair. He will see patients at Bienville Orthopaedic’s Gulfport and Biloxi offices.

Molly Brown, R.N., B.S.N., M.S.N., F.N.P. has joined the medical staff of Merit Health Biloxi. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women and a Masters of Nursing as a family nurse practitioner from University of Mississippi Medical Center. She will practice at Merit Health Medical Group Cedar Lake.

Tenesha Batiste of Moss Point has been named the associate vice president for Institutional Advancement at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The Institutional Advancement office oversees the MGCCC Foundation and alumni. She previously was dean of business services at the college’s Jackson County Campus and director of human resources at the district office in Perkinston. She also worked as director of human resources for Moss Point and in human resources at Singing River Health System. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in English/journalism from Tougaloo College and holds an MBA from American Intercontinental University. She is pursuing a doctorate in human capital development from University of Southern Mississippi.

Gulfport Attorney Martin Crump was one of four attorneys recently presenting a webinar on the Mirena — Pseudotumor Cerebri litigation, sponsored by Consumer Attorney Marketing Group of Woodland Hills, California. Crump discussed the science and litigation related to pseudotumor cerebri (intracranial hypertension) and the Mirena IUD birth control devices. Earlier this month, Crump was appointed by Judge Paul Engelmayer, US District Court, Southern District of New York, as plaintiffs’ co-lead counsel for the Mirena IUD multi-district litigation (MDL) across the country.
