Beer event launches ‘festival season’ in Ocean Springs

A beer pairing event on Oct. 11 will kick off festival season in the city.

The Walter Anderson Museum of Art at 510 Washington Ave. will be the site of the event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. It is presented by the Chamber of Commerce Main Street Tourism Bureau and FEB Distributing.

The public is invited to attend the free beer pairing, meet the Blue Moon Art Project artists, listen to live music by Caution Swing Bridge and snack on food from Broome’s. A silent auction will begin at 5:45 p.m. and those attending can bid on an original piece of Blue Moon artwork. Proceeds will benefit the artists.

The Blue Moon Art Project is a national project where artists partner with Blue Moon and create a painting depicting the artist’s interpretation of the beer. The winner’s work is featured as the marketing symbol of Blue Moon for the following year’s Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival.

The 38th annual Peter Anderson Festival presented by Blue Moon is Nov. 5-6 in downtown Ocean Springs. Details will be posted on the festival website at as they become available.
