Gulf Coast Free Will Baptist Church was established in 1982 in a store front on Dedeaux Road.
Now the church has a large sanctuary with classrooms and a fellowship hall at 13040 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport.
Members say the church is not a building but a group of people who serve Christ, each other and the community.
Eddie Young has been the senior pastor since March 2014. He has been the pastor of churches since 1998 and came to Gulf Coast Free Will Baptist after heading First Free Will Baptist in Tucson, Ariz., for more than eight years.
