Popular Protein Ice Cream Brand Expands Beyond Pints With an Entirely New Dessert Line
If you've ever wished your favorite Häagen-Dazs ice cream bar would contribute to your daily protein intake in a meaningful way, boy, do we have news for you. Protein Pints, a high-protein ice cream brand, is making moves into a new space this summer-one that's nostalgic as ever.
On Tuesday, the macro-friendly frozen dessert brand revealed it would be launching a new line of high-protein ice cream bars. Fittingly dubbed Protein Pops, the new treats aim to recreate several classic flavors with a protein-packed twist that actually contributes to your gains.
And as Paul Reiss, co-founder and CEO of Protein Pints, put it, the timing couldn't be better. Not only is protein having a moment (just look at recent offers from Doritos, Kraft, Starbucks and even Papa Johns), but summer is "prime ice cream season and the perfect moment to introduce Protein Pops."
"With Protein Pops, we wanted to create something people genuinely crave in a format that complements their busy lives, while still delivering the protein and ingredients our customers expect," Reiss added. "Pops offer everything people love about our pints, now in a convenient grab-and-go format."
Protein Pints Debuts New Line of Ice Cream Bars in 4 Flavors
The novelty pops will be available in four flavors inspired by combinations long found in the freezer aisle: Caramel Crunch, Vanilla Crunch, Peanut Butter Crunch, and Mint Crunch.

Each Protein Pop delivers 10 grams of chocolate-dipped complete protein (meaning each has all nine essential amino acids), 5 grams of net carbs, and 4 grams of total sugar (only 3 of which are added), significantly less than a traditional ice cream bar.
- Caramel Crunch: Caramel ice cream with sweet swirls of caramel dipped in milk chocolate and sprinkled with crunchy inclusions.
- Vanilla Crunch: Protein-packed vanilla ice cream dipped in a milk chocolate shell and topped with crunchy bits.
- Peanut Butter Crunch: Peanut butter ice cream coated in a milk chocolate shell and sprinkled with crunchy pieces.
- Mint Crunch: Mint-flavored ice cream dipped in a milk chocolate shell and finished with crisped rice.
The bars are made with real ice cream, natural ingredients, and never any artificial sweeteners (using monk fruit instead). Protein Pops are gluten-free and contain about 180-190 calories per serving (one 2.4-ounce bar).
Where Can I Buy the New Protein Pops?
A limited quantity of all four flavors (sold in packs of three) is now available online at the official Protein Pops website, with the first shipments headed to the frozen section of Sprouts Farmers Market stores next week (Monday, June 29; prices may vary).
The brand said it has plans to expand the ice cream bars to Harris Teeter locations in late July and additional retailers nationwide closer to the fall.
