Popular sandwich shop Jimmy Johns closes its doors in Biloxi
Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches on Pass Road in Biloxi has closed after four years in business, leaving its shop on Creosote Road in Gulfport as the only one open the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The shop is known for its sub and club sandwiches on house-baked bread. The company, founded more than 36 years ago in Illinois, was purchased in the fall by Inspire Brands, the parent company of Arby’s.
According to its website, Jimmy John’s has about 2,800 locations in 43 states.
The Biloxi location had a direct competitor right across the street: Firehouse Subs at Beauvoir and Pass Road. A Subway sandwich shop is located in the shopping center just west of the former Jimmy John’s location.
